Romans 8:37-39 - No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The Holy Bible: New International Version. (1984). (Ro 8:37–39). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan.

Are you convinced?  Another family succumbed to cancer, are you convinced?  Another senseless church shooting, are you still convinced?  Another bill is past due, your utilities may be turned off, and your tire just went flat; are you really convinced?   The daily grind of life can weigh you down mentally and it can drag you down emotionally too.  It can get so intense that it can start to affect your sleep patterns, and then anxiety, worry, and stress take over.   The devil is very crafty as he strikes God's children when they are at their weakest.  How can you be strong in the face of such great affliction?

How can Paul be so confident as he faced mental, physical, and emotional persecution?  Paul didn't have the strength to endure, but his Savior did.  The message of Jesus' death and resurrection empowered Paul to endure such great suffering.  Paul was convinced, above everything else, that there was nothing that could separate him from the love Jesus had for him.  Jesus' sacrifice on the cross convinced him.  God the Father's willingness to give up his only Son convinced him.  The Holy Spirit's constant reminder of God's love and promises convinced Paul that he was a conqueror.

You are conquerors too, because God loves you.  The fact that God gave up his only Son on your behalf convinces you that no matter what happens in this life, Christ's love never stops.   If you have ever doubted or if you struggle, first of all you're not alone, second of all, remember the great sacrifice of your Savior Jesus.  Depend on his love and not your feelings; depend on his love and not your intellect; depend on his love and not your own strength.   You are a conqueror because Christ has already conquered those enemies for you through when he willingly suffered and died in your place on the cross.  Trust in him above all things, and hold on to the promise that God will work all things out for your good.  By the Holy Spirit driven faith, trust that you are more than conquerors!
